Woodstraps, designed by Summumstudio, is a sculptural and modular lighting piece born from the reinterpretation of a crossbow’s form and tension. The upper slats of natural wood veneer arc gracefully into a cohesive volume, creating a dynamic structure that leaves the central light source partially exposed. Metal components, subtly evocative of belt buckles, not only secure the wooden elements but also allow for slight adjustments, adding versatility and technical finesse to the design.
More than just a lamp, Woodstraps is an exploration of balance between tension and release, rigidity and flexibility. Its refined composition results in a captivating dialogue between materials, light, and structure, an object that feels both engineered and poetic.
