BLOK

Low wooden coffee table

In the Blok coffee table, the architectural sign is evident in the pure forms and simple silhouettes that recall the massive volumes of the “blokovi,” residential neighborhoods of Belgrade in full Brutalist style.‎
The seemingly suspended structure arises from the intersection of the horizontal planes of the seat and back, in which the wood is expressed through unexpected graphic signs, and the vertical volumes of the base that serve as supporting pillars of the entire composition.‎
The rhythmic and rigid overlapping of the elements coexists with the softness of the upholstery, in a dualism that in the Serbian city is manifested by the different architectural souls that inhabit it.‎
